Bormio is bike friendly

Dear passionate inbormio readers,

here we are again at another appointment with our news section on the “Magnificent Earth“!

The summer is near and the hot spring and summer days will soon give two-wheelers the chance to get back on track!

And it will be one of the most famous stage races in the world to kick off the season: as announced in one of our previous posts, on May 28th the Giro d’Italia will pass through Bormio.

After it, to mention some of the races, the Granfondo Stelvio Santini will take place on June 2nd, Re Stelvio Mapei on July 14th and for MTB lovers the awaited Alta Valtellina Bike Marathon will be held on July 27th.

In addition, Bormio has once again decided to join the Enjoy Stelvio National Park project where for eight days, in rotation, the legendary Alpine passes of the Stelvio National Park will remain free of motorized traffic: an opportunity for cyclists who can enjoy the legendary go up in full freedom.

  • June 20 – closing Passo del Mortirolo
  • 07 July – closing Passo del Mortirolo
  • 08 July – Closing of the Cancano Lakes (Passo di Fraele)
  • 09 July – closing Passo Gavia
  • 21 July – closing of Passo Gavia
  • August 30th – Closing of the Cancano Lakes (Passo di Fraele)
  • August 31 – closing of the Stelvio Pass (climb Cima Coppi)
  • 01 September – closing Gavia Pass
